NVIDIA launches the first central processor targeting data centers and supercomputers

Nvidia announced the launch of its first central processor "CPU" targeting data centers, named "Grace" after computer scientist Grace Hopper.

The new NVIDIA processor targets data centers that rely on powerful artificial intelligence technologies and supercomputers, and it is based on ARM Neoverse cores with x86 architecture that work interconnected with the company's graphics processor technologies.

The move is a big blow to Intel, which is a leader in the production of x86 processor chips for data centers and supercomputers.

According to Nvidia, Grace's processing system is 10 times faster in natural language processors compared to the x86 DGXTM system that is also developing it, thanks to more than a trillion of data helping to process tasks in the fastest way possible.

With this step, the company has become a developer of CPU chips, DPU chips, and of course, GPU chips, and is thus one of the few companies that can enter the field of manufacturing three different types of processors.

It would be the Swiss National Supercomputing Center and the US Los Alamos National Laboratory or Grace system.

Nvidia acquired ARM last year for about $ 40 billion, in a move that dealt a heavy blow to competitors in the processor sector.
