GFX 100S by Fujifilm comes with 102 megapixels

Fujifilm has unveiled the GFX 100S with a 102-megapixel sensor and a compact body, so it's smaller than the full-frame S1R from Panasonic and slightly heavier than the R5 from Canon and the A7R IV from Sony.

The camera has many features that Fujifilm has previously developed in GFX cameras, including in-body stabilization, improved autofocus, and the ability to record in 4K.

The GFX 100S was revealed alongside the newly designed X-E4, and it houses a backlit sensor with a resolution of 102 megapixels.

This allows for the production of high-detail images with enough dynamic range to allow post-production adjustments, Fujifilm said.

And you can get higher resolution shots of up to 400 megapixels with Fujifilm's Pixel Shift Multi Shot, if you are ready to use a tripod.

This camera represents a smaller, more intuitive version of the GFX 100 camera, which the company released in 2019 for $ 10,000.

The GFX 100S looks different from all previous GFX cameras, as it is smaller, has a weatherproof body weight of just 900 grams, and now has a large head-up display instead of the GFX 50S's shutter speed dial, and the mode dial instead of an ISO.

Using the company's latest X-Processor, the camera can shoot at up to 5 frames per second, and you can shoot 4K videos at up to 30 frames per second, as well as slow motion 1080p at 60 frames per second.

The camera has two USB-C and Micro HDMI ports, two UHS-II SD card slots, and two 3.5mm ports for microphones and headphones.

The GFX 100S is available in March for $ 6,000 for a body only, and Fujifilm is also launching a new 80mm f / 1.7 GF lens that month, which should address concerns about the lack of quick options for the GFX system, to be sold at $ 2,300. .
