Apple is working on the MacBook Air with a new design that is thinner and lighter

In recent weeks, news reports have circulated Apple's plan to change some of the designs of its upcoming devices, including the MacBook Pro, iMac, and MacBook Air.

Today, in a new report from Bloomberg, the site indicated some additional details about the company's plan to update the MacBook Air category; It will be thinner in design, lighter in weight and faster in performance, with the adoption of the second generation of the company's M1 chip.

Computers will come with screen edges less, which will be reflected on the overall design, of course, and make the computer more attractive. While the MacBook Air category will depend on the MagSafe wireless charging system that is supposed to be used in the next version of the Mac Pro series

The report did not provide explanatory details in numbers about the thickness of the device or the extent of shrinkage at the edges of the screen and the weight. However, it refers to a new design through which the company seeks to offer a high-end version of those currently in the market intended for beginners, as well as contributing to the development of wide differences in design between the lines of laptops, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Expectations indicate that the updated version will reach the market at the end of this year or early next year 2022; Which means that it will be put on the market after the launch of the upcoming high-end MacBook Pro versions with 14 and 16-inch screen models, according to the leaks.
